Kai made proof again of his determination to be the ultimate waterman.
Kai Lenny has made his name in surfing history once again. Having started Stand Up Paddle at the age of just 10 when the discipline was in its infancy, Kai has since contributed to radical changes in the sport.
Even before the last stage of the Stand Up World Tour, Kai had already made his mark in a fierce competition amongst riders from around the world, powering him into the lead with enough points to prevent any other competitors beating him.
This young rider pushes the boundaries of the sport and has no intention of giving in. Having won this stage of the Maresias Pro in Brazil, Kai heads straight back home to Hawaii to take part in the final of the American Windsurf Tour. This rider is quite simply an exceptional waterman.
Everything that Kai has achieved in 2011 is to the delight and satisfaction of the OXBOW family: “We are very proud of all that Kai has achieved, and we are all looking forward to seeing him ride the Pacific swells this winter”, says Matthieu Bazil, Managing Director of OXBOW.
Congratulations, Kai!
